Abbeywood Estate wedding photography
Located in the stunning Cheshire countryside is Abbeywood Estate, a beautiful and unique wedding venue. Nestled within a small rural estate with beautiful landscaped gardens and access to woodland overlooking the Utkinton Hills, Abbeywood provides the perfect backdrop for your special day.. its one of my absolute fave venues on account of its beautiful naturally lit space and immense grounds.
At Abbeywood nothing about your day is set in stone, from which of their licensed rooms you choose to be married & celebrate in, to who you choose for your catering. It has such a relaxed feel, and no two weddings are the same here. The grounds include 27 acres of wildlife, gardens and woodland - your wedding images will always be unique too.
where to stay
Abbeywood Estate blogs
Abbeywood has accommodation on site in the Main House, with 7 en suite rooms, 2 apartments and 2 cottage rooms.
Portal Hotel and Spa is a large nearby hotel that is great for additional wedding guest accommodation for Abbeywood Weddings too.
More accommodation can be found at Premier Inn Northwich, and the George and Dragon in Tarporley.
Can we have a civil ceremony at Abbeywood?
Yes you can! Alcumlow Wedding Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies and have lots of different room options, from inside the Glasshouse, the Garden Cafe, The Orangery, The Barn and the Gazebo if you're opting for an outdoor ceremony. Your Ceremony are the Cheshire East Registrars covering this area.
Otherwise there are some lovely local churches, St Peters, and Oakmere Methodist Church.
What if it rains at our Abbeywood wedding?
Believe it or not, this image is from a wedding day where it POURED down! There are lots of lovely indoor spaces - that dreamy glasshouse for example - and we'll make it outside where we can. We waited until after dinner on Mandy & Dan's day.
I also use a very handy weather app which enables me to keep an eye on the weather during the day too and I'm very used to utilising gaps in the rain so you can relax!
Where should we have our group photos?
It really just depends what you'd like your backdrop to be, the possibilities are endless at Abbeywood! The gardens to the back of the main house work well if you're planning on having your drinks reception out there, so all of your guests are close by. I also love the leading lines down to the garden to the orangery for groups!
Is Abbeywood an exclusive use venue?
Abbeywood Estate is an exclusive use venue, which means you and your guests can enjoy absolutely everything it has to offer, and mix up where you hold your ceremony, drinks reception and dinner, depending on what suits you. Sooo many options!
