Combermere Abbey wedding photography
Set on the border of Shropshire and Cheshire & steeped in history and romance, Combermere Abbey sits within acres of rolling parkland, bluebell woods and walled gardens, providing a secluded and special place for you to celebrate your big day. Elegant, luxurious and enchanting, Combermere Abbey offers something truly unique for your fairy-tale wedding and can cater for every aspect of your day.
Exchange your vows in the stunning Glasshouse. Flooded with natural light and surrounded by a charming fruit tree maze, it’s a breathtaking place to say ‘I do’.
As the sun goes down, dance the night away under the starry ceiling and chandeliers in the Pavilion while fairy lights in the trees beyond set the scene for your evening party.
Truly a photographers paradise, its one of my favourite venues to work at!

WHERE TO STAY FOR YOUR COMBERMERE ABBEY WEDDING
Combermere Abbey blogs
If you're looking for somewhere to have your pre-wedding prep, your wedding night stay or guest accommodation there is plenty on offer at Combermere. The Stone Lodge at the top of the drive is perfect for bridal prep and the venue arrange for their vintage Crossley motor car to take you down to the ceremony.
The cottages in the grounds can sleep up to 49 guests and the North Wing in the Abbey is available for your wedding night stay too.
More accommodation can be found at Cheshire Boutique Barns, and in nearby Nantwich where there are a number of small hotels, and a Premier Inn.
CAN WE GET MARRIED AT COMBERMERE ABBEY?
You can indeed! Combermere Abbey is licensed for civil ceremonies in the stunning Glasshouse, and outdoors in the beautiful fruit maze. If you 're planning a church wedding there are some pretty local churches, plus St Mary's in the heart of Nantwich.
WHAT IF IT RAINS AT OUR COMBERMERE ABBEY WEDDING?
A wet wedding might be one of your worries but there are always rainy day options. In light rain there is lots of tree cover if you're happy to brave it with brollies and the glasshouse is perfect for indoor group portraits! I use a very clever weather app to keep a close eye on the weather during weddings too and am very used to utilising gaps in the rain so you can relax!
IS THERE SOMEWHERE AT COMBERMERE YOU RECOMMEND FOR GROUP PHOTOS?
There are such beautiful large grounds at Combermere Abbey and there really are endless options - I still don't think I've been everywhere! So it just depends what you'd like your backdrop to be. I love the grounds outside of the Pavilion for groups! As mentioned above in the event of wet weather we can head inside the glasshouse too!
CAN WE BRING OUR DOG TO OUR COMBERMERE ABBEY WEDDING?
Dogs are allowed in the grounds at weddings, but are not allowed to stay in the cottages during weddings. A local doggy chaperone service might be ideal if you're planning on having a doggy ring bearer! Precious Pets offer this.
CAN WE THROW CONFETTI AT COMBERMERE?
Yes you can!
Confetti shots normally take place outside of the Glasshouse ceremony space as you head out into the fruit maze! We'll normally use this space for a while group photograph afterwards too!
