I don't even know where to start with this year! I have to admit I entered 2017 feeling a little nervous about the year ahead - it's been my first year solely self employed after doing photography alongside my full time job previously, but I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out and looking through these images I'm heading into 2018 full to the brim with excitement for the next year. I started to put together a little round up over the Christmas week and it quickly spiralled into this mammoth post! I couldn't just choose a few pics.. so here are all of my faves!
The people I've met and had the absolute pleasure of working with are completely what makes this job so enjoyable and I can't thank you enough for inviting me to photograph your special days <3. I've been so lucky to work at some gorgeous venues through the year, barns, halls, the theatre, even twice at the same family home in the summer, I've cried with laughter, and with emotion, through ceremonies and speeches, and I've been so lucky to have made some wonderful friends along the way. I'm constantly blown away by the work of other wedding suppliers that I see throughout the days, staff, flowers, hair & makeup, caterers, toastmasters to name a few and I already can't wait to see who I meet in 2018!
Some absolute highlights for me this year were the news that I'd won two awards for my photography, having my work featured in wedding blogs and brochures, closely followed by seeing one of my wedding images printed onto a pair of trainers being worn to another wedding, and spotting a poster of one of my portraits outside a theatre! I've been overwhelmed by the words of support and encouragement that my couples, their family and friends, and my own, continue to give to me! You're the absolute loveliest and you really have made my year!
Alongside my usual New Years resolutions (less junk food!!!) I've been making some work ones too and I'm hoping that 2018 will see my little photography workshops come to life (let me know if you think you'd be interested!) and ticking off some of my 'Places I want to photograph' bucket list!
Hope you enjoy having a look through all of these pictures.. Wishing everyone the very happiest of New Years! <3 xxx
